It Must've Been Sadie

Written by Bootsauce, from Bootsauce, 1995

I never had a memory I didn't like
It must've been Sadie
She steered me wrong and made it quite all right
Imaginary lady

I'm strung out on a rock
She's leading me to the top
She'll take me whether or not
I gotta get off this rock

(Sample A: Two-- three-- four!)
If ever there was someone I forgot
It must've been Sadie
She made me do things normally you could not
She made me crazy, baby
It must've been Sadie

I'm strung out on a rock
She's leading me to the top
She'll take me whether or not
I gotta get off this rock

(Sample A)

She makes me go and hurt myself a lot
I tell them it's Sadie
I lie alone at home, she makes it dark
Oh, she's a crazy lady

I'm strung out on a rock
She's leading me to the top
She'll take me whether or not
I gotta get off this rock (x 2)

(Sample A) x 4

Notes:

  • "Sadie" is a character representing a drug addiction. This may just be a coincidence, but "saddie" is also Australian/Southern European slang for a small baggie that drugs are kept in, known as a "dime bag" out here.
